- THE POWER OF HEALING TOUCH -
20 July - 25 July 2027
𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐄
Some things are better learned away from ordinary life.
This 5-day residential course invites you into the traditional art of Thai Yoga Massage, held at Sonnenwald — a community nestled deep in the Black Forest, surrounded by trees, silence, and space to actually absorb what you're learning. Away from phones, traffic, and daily distractions, the body and mind settle into a different rhythm — the same rhythm this practice asks you to work with.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
By the end of the 5 days, you'll have a complete, practical foundation
in Thai Yoga Massage:
— FOUNDATIONS & PRESENCE
The history and philosophy of Thai Yoga Massage, proper body mechanics,
breath awareness, and how to work from your body weight instead of your
muscles — the single most important skill for longevity as a practitioner.
— FEET & LEGS
Sen line theory (the energy lines Thai massage works with), foot and leg sequences, palming, thumbing, and stretching techniques that open the entire lower body.
— BACK, HIPS & SEATED WORK
Supine and prone back sequences, hip openers, and the seated forward-fold and shoulder work that most people associate with Thai massage.
— ARMS, NECK & INTEGRATION
Arm and shoulder sequences, neck work, and how to link everything learned so far into one continuous, flowing full-body sequence — no more disconnected techniques.
— FULL SEQUENCE, PRACTICE & CERTIFICATION
A complete full-body practice session, feedback and refinement, and
certification as a Thai Yoga Massage Level 1 practitioner — the foundation for every advanced training we offer (Advanced Thai, Dynamic Thai, Osteothai).
WHY TAKE THIS COURSE
Thai Yoga Massage is one of the most complete bodywork systems in the
world — part massage, part assisted yoga, part energy work. Learning
it gives you:
* A skill you can practice immediately, professionally or for the people you love
* A deep, embodied understanding of the body that improves every other
kind of touch you offer
* A gateway into our full curriculum, if you want to go further
* A practice that protects your body long-term, because it's built
on leverage and body weight, not muscular strain
WHY RESIDENTIAL MATTERS
Five days living, eating, and practicing together changes how deeply the
learning lands. You're not commuting home each night to reset into old
patterns — you're staying inside the learning, letting the techniques settle into muscle memory in a way a weekend class never allows.
Sonnenwald offers exactly that container: simple, beautiful accommodation surrounded by forest, and shared meals that are part of the experience, not an afterthought — nourishing, wholesome food that supports the physical work you're doing all day. Good food matters more than people realize during intensive practice; it's what keeps energy and focus steady through five full days of hands-on learning.
You'll leave not just certified, but changed — with a new skill, a resettled nervous system, and five days of real community behind you.

𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍
The course will take place in the community Gemeinschaft Sonnenwald in Seewald-Schernbach, a small village on a sunny plateau in the Freudenstadt district (Black Forest). Just a 20 minute walk away from a lake. A few footsteps into the forest.
A community that research about the question how a new culture of togetherness might look like. They practice regenerative agriculture, engage in transformative education, use natural resources mindfully and make decisions together in a sociocratic manner.
Part of the community is the organic farm Hof Sonnenwald. The meals that are cooked for our course, will be made mostly from the own products of their regenerative agriculture.

ROOMS
You will be accommodated in our cosy rooms with one to four beds. Each room has an own creative decoration topic and wonderful views into the green landscape.

SELF-PRODUCED FOOD FROM BIO-HOF-SONNENWALD
You will have the pleasure to enjoy the freshly harvested organic food from our regenerative agriculture Hof Sonnenwald.
In their Market Garden, they produce a high variety of vegetables and herbs by maintaining healthy, fertile soils and local biodiversity with a high standard of sustainable and regenerative food production.
Meat from cows, pics and chicken as well as cheese are produced by implementing high standards of animal welfare.
In our own agroforest (the biggest in Southern Germany), we grow berry, nuts and wild fruits.
